Virginia Owen

Virginia Nell Owen, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in Abilene, Texas. A visitation will be 9:00 AM, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. The funeral service will follow the visitation to begin at 10:00 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
Virginia was born June 28, 1928 in Slaton, Texas to Irby and Pearl Smith. She graduated from Slaton High School. She was a care taker by nature and took care of her parents and siblings when they were ill. Virginia enjoyed farming, driving the tractor, and hereford cattle. Above all Virginia loved her family and worked hard for them always.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Owen; her parents, Irby and Pearl Smith; her two brothers, Van Smith, and Landon Smith; and her sister, Zerva Smith.
Virginia is survived by her son, Van Owen and his wife Joyce; and her nieces and nephews.
