Virginia Duffel

Virginia Faye Duffel, 88, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, in Abilene, Texas. A visitation will be 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A graveside service will follow beginning at 2:00 PM in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Virginia was born on July 16, 1934, in DeLeon, Texas to Jack and Jewel Miller. Being raised in DeLeon she attended and graduated from DeLeon High School. After high school Virginia attended and graduated from Draughn's Business College in Abilene, Texas. In 1952 Virginia married the love of her life Borden Duffel and the couple enjoyed many years together until his passing in 1998. She worked as a secretary then as the office manager for Borden Duffel CPA in Abilene. She was a long-time resident of Wesley Court Assisted Living in Abilene. She especially enjoyed hearing about what her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were doing. Virginia was very loved and will be forever missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jewel Miller; husband, Borden Duffel; daughter in law, Allison Duffel, great-grandson, Austin L'Heureux; brother-in-law, Jay Franks.

Virginia is survived by two sons, Michael Duffel and wife Patricia, and Mark Duffel; three grandchildren, John Duffel, Sarah Duffel Karber and husband Shawn, Lilly Duffel Noworatsky; four great-grandchildren, Harper Duffel, Adeline Karber, Oliver Karber, and Lila Noworatsky; sister, Jackie Franks; Nieces, Becky Young and husband Trennon, and Janet Franks.
