Vickie Lynn Swinney, 66, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 in Abilene. A visitation will be 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Friday, March 24, 2023 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 hwy 277 South. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 24, 2023 in the Elmwood Memorial Park.

Vickie was born March 4, 1957 in Abilene, Texas to James and Valda Steele. She attended Abilene High School, McMurry University, and graduated from Angelo State with her bachelors in nursing. Vickie married Jimmy Swiney on June 29, 1973, and they were married 49 years until his passing exactly 2 months prior to Vickie's. Vickie worked as a nurse for the State School, Abilene Regional, and A Division of Aging and Disability. She enjoyed plants, her fur baby Brusier but most of all her family especially her grandchildren. She will forever be loved and missed always.

She is preceded in death by her husband and numerous family members.

Vickie is survived by her daughter, Stefanie Swinney; her son, James Swinney; granddaughters, Adelyn Harvey, Madison Swinney, and Emily Swinney; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
