Thomas Gonzales

Thomas Gonzales passed away September 14, 2021 with his children and grandchildren at his side.

There will be a visitation and Rosary on Sunday, Sept 19th at Elmwood Funeral Home from 6-8 pm, and Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Sept 20th, at St Francis Catholic Church at 10 am.

Daddy was born March 7, 1938 to Arturo and Rosa Mata Gonzales. He attended Abilene schools, North Texas State University and McMurry College.

Daddy married our mom Gloria Lujan on August 27, 1960. Together, they raised 3 children, Rose, Patricia and Sam. Both were very involved in their children's lives and Tom never missed an event one was participating in.

Daddy and Mama had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who were the absolute delight of their lives. There was no time or expense spared on them, and they did no wrong.

Tom was preceded in death by Gloria, his wife of 54 years; his parents; and son-in-law, Ronny Smith. He is survived by daughter, Rose Branch and husband Jeff of Abilene; daughter, Patricia Smith and partner James Fly of Lawrence KS; and son, Sam and wife Kim of Waxahachie.

Surviving grandchildren are Nina Murdock and husband Matt with their children Charli, Colton, Savannah and Stephanie, Megan Wolfe, Brennan Branch, Emily Gonzales, Addison Branch, Molly Gonzales, Alex Gonzales, Carly Gonzales and Zoe Gonzales.
