Thelma Peoples

Thelma Virginia Peoples (Granny) of Abilene, Texas passed away Tuesday May 31, 2022 at the age of 97. Graveside services Tuesday June 7, 2022 at 11:00am in the Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Memories. Visitation, Monday June 6, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Elmwood Funeral Home 5750 HWY 277 South. Reverend James Parker, officiating.

Thelma was born in Eastland, Texas on April 2, 1925 to Tom and Versie (Brown) Peoples.

Thelma was a Loving and Devoted mother, grandmother and Christian. She was a hard-working woman. She worked for Dr. Elliot Mendenhall for 30 plus years. She was a foster grandparent to many children and called them all her babies. Granny had a pure heart, enjoyed spending hours in her yard. She loved her family and God, but above all she loved teaching, talking about God and going to her spiritual home in heaven.

Thelma is proceeded in death by her father, mother, daughter Shirley Lefall, son Wayne Vernon.

She is survived by grandson Trevor Vernon, 2 grandkids, 5 great grandkids and 2 great great grandkids.
