Ronald Roger Watkins, 84, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Abilene. A visitation will be held 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Ronald was born March 3, 1937 in Glen Rose, Texas to Joe and Corrine Watkins. He grew up in Abilene, Texas and attended the public schools in Abilene. He married the love of his life Peggy Tucker in 1955 and the couple were married for 62 years until her passing on September 29, 2017. Ronald worked for the City of Abilene for 38 years and 30 of those years as a senior supervisor in Refuge collection. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Watkins; and his parents.
He is survived by his three children, Roger Watkins, DeLinda Campbell, and Tina Ignazitto; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Juanda , Mozelle, Patricia, and Margaret; and 4 brothers, George, James, Douglas & Novel
