Norma Oliver

Norma Jean Oliver 82 went to be with her heavenly father Sunday, February 16, 2020, at TriStar SMC in Nashville, Tennessee.

Norma was born October 8, 1937 in Taylor Texas. She was the daughter of Grady Lee and Matilda Robinson. Norma worked and retired from Abilene State School. She married Lewis C. Oliver in May of 1965. They had a total of 5 children during their 42 years of marriage.

Norma was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and her church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved all her family and friends. She had a loving and giving personality. Her favorite pastime was going to church, reading the Bible, and staying in touch with all her family and friends. Norma also loved dressing up and looking nice. She was able to live out the rest of her time in Nashville, TN with her sister and family and had an amazing time doing so. She gained another church home and church family in the time she was there. In the words of Norma Jean Oliver “I’m living my best life”.

She is preceded in death by parents Grady and Matilda Robinson Sr., husband Lewis C. Oliver, son Kenneth Oliver, daughter Beverly K. Oliver, twin daughters Yvette and Yvonne Oliver, Sister Doris Nevels, brother Grady Lee Robinson Jr, and great grandson Samuel L. Calvin.

Left to cherish her memory, two sisters Ruby Turner and Maxine Hodge(John), son Dywarne Terry Oliver Sr. and wife, granddaughters Candace and Ellisa Oliver, Areana Jackson (mother Carolyn Jackson) grandsons Dywarne Terry Jr. and Jonathan Oliver, a special cousin/best friend Linda Taylor, and special friend Phyllis Brown(Curtis). Two aunts Olive Gamble and Maureen Robinson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
