Mildred Caffey

Mildred Ridgway Caffey, 92, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 30th in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Mrs. Caffey was born in Oklahoma on March 24, 1917 the daughter of Dave Sollis and Nora Oldham Sollis. She has been a resident of Abilene since 1955. Mildred enjoyed oil painting, playing both the organ and piano, reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Gloria Ridgway of Abilene; one sister, Sue Perry of Houston; two grandsons, Bill Cook of Abilene and Christopher Caronna of East Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Herman Ridgway, her second husband, Nolan Caffey, and her daughter, Shirley Caronna.
