Marie "Tillie" Hollowell, 92, passed away September 7, 2022 in Abilene, Texas. A visitation will be 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Friday, September 9, 2022 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, September 9, 2022 in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Marie was born March 26, 1930 in Millersview, Texas to Norman and Susie Shelton. She married the love of her life Robert N. Hollowell June 4, 1953 and spent 46 blissful years until his passing on April 19, 2000. Marie was very proud that she lived in her home for 63 years and 22 years was all by herself. In 2004 Marie retired from the Abilene State Supported Living Center. Marie enjoyed cooking for her family every Sunday for family lunch. She was sassy, witty, sharp as a tack, and stubborn as a mule. She loved scratch offs and arguing politics. Above all she loved her family well especially her grandchildren. Her love and legacy will be carried on through generations to come.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert N. Hollowell; her daughter, Robbie Jonas; her son, James Hollowell; and her granddaughter, Christi Hollowell.
Marie is survived by two children, Jackie Bryant and husband Coy and Robert Hollowell and wife Sandy; daughter in law, Donna Hollowell Patrick; her grandchildren, Jason Bryan, Amanda Duncan and husband Spencer, Lora Huerta and husband Chris, Magan Swaringen and husband Chad, Garrett Hollowell and wife Alley, Kasi Leitzinger and husband Nick; 14 great grandchildren; her sister, Donnie Sue Marek; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
