Lawrence Ballou

Lawrence Allen Ballou, 94, of Abilene, TX passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Aspermont, TX.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, in Brad, Cemetery in Brad, TX.

Lawrence was born on July 3, 1928, in Mineral Wells, TX to the late Nora Evans Ballou and Jesse Ballou. He married the love of his life Vera Jo Stedman in Mineral Wells on December 2, 1950 and had almost 72 years of life together. Their main passion was serving the Lord. Lawrence worked for most of his life as a Pastor in Baptist churches in El Paso, Cedar Hill, Abilene, and Aspermont. His second passion was his family, whom he dearly loved. Lawrence was a member of Elmcrest Baptist Church in Abilene.

Lawrence is survived by his loving wife, Vera Jo; children, Sherry Ballou, Jerre Freeman (Melvin), Lawrence Dwayne Ballou (Jim Garnsey), Cindy Petty (Doug); grandchildren, Kelli Mitchell, Melissa Dean, Nikki Hall (Isaac), Nathan McCarley (Vanessa), Lindsey Edging (Donny), Cody Petty (Adrianna), Will Petty, Seth Petty (Samantha); 20 great grandchildren; numerous family and friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by 3 sons, Monnie Ballou, Ronnie Ballou, Terry Ballou; a grandson, Luke Petty; 3 siblings.
