Kent Ritchie

Kent S. Ritchie, 49, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021. A visitation time will be held 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, August 30, 2021, at Elmwood Funeral Home, Abilene, Texas. The funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Broadview Baptist Church, 2500 South 27th, Abilene, Texas. Interment will be at 2:30 PM in the Throckmorton Cemetery.

Kent was born November 8, 1971 to Glyn and Darlene Ritchie in Abilene, Texas. As a teen Kent achieved his Eagle Scout. On December 1, 1990 Kent started dating Alicia Hawkins and the couple married May 10, 1997. Kent and Alicia shared 30 blissful years together and had two beautiful children, Jaycee and Klayton. Kent owned and operated Ritchie Trucking. He was often referred to as Tank and enjoyed race cars, ranching, farming, but most of all helping others. Kent was hard working, funny, and was always sure to put a smile on the face of those he loved. Above all Kent loved his family and was a wonderful son, husband, brother, uncle, and father. His love and legacy will carry on through those who were blessed to call Kent their family and friend.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Juanita Harrington; his nephew, Konner; two aunts; two uncles; and a nephew.

Kent is survived by his wife, Alicia Ritchie; his children, Jaycee Ritchie, and Klayton Ritchie; his parents, Glyn and Darlene Ritchie; his brothers, Kevin Ritchie and his wife Cindy, Kory Ritchie and his wife Melissa, and Kevin Allen (Playboy); his niece, Paige Ritchie; and two nephews, Karson Ritchie, and Kutter Ritchie; his father and mother in law, Gary and Kay Liner; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
