Jose Naredo

Jose Domingo Naredo, died peacefully after a brief illness on December 31, 2019, in Abilene, Texas.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held Monday, January 6, 2020, at 11 AM at the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 5, from 3-5 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 US Hwy 277 S.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Jose was born July 19, 1949, in Havana, Cuba to the late Drs. Jose and Rita Naredo. Along with his family, Jose moved to the United States as a twelve -year old boy eventually in 1963 making their home in Abilene, Texas. He was a graduate of Abilene High School and McMurry University. Jose worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 29 years as a customer service technician. He was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.

Jose is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jan Noland Naredo; three sons, Paul and wife Dennise Naredo of Abilene, Troy Naredo of Florida, Andrew Naredo of Abilene; three grandchildren, Cooper Naredo, Madison Hoover, Maile Naredo; twin brother, Juan Naredo and wife Sylvia of Abilene; sister, Rita Latimer and husband Don of Richardson, Texas; sister, Minuca Villaverde and husband Fernando of Spain; cousins, Felipe Alonso and wife Frances of Round Rock, Texas, Alex Alonso and wife Ivet of Florida, Esther Rivas and husband Luis of North Carolina; many nephews, nieces, their spouses and children. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Naredo and Josefina Naredo.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas, 79601, in memory of Jose D. Naredo.
