John Norris

John Buster Norris passed away on November 4, 2020 in Abilene. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 202 Butternut St. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 1:00 PM.

John was born on September 21, 1958 in Midland, TX. He grew up in Abilene, TX and attended Cooper High School where he met Mary Raney. They were married soon after school in 1977. He began his career and became a Master Electrician and spent most of his career working as a project manager for government contracts overseas.

He loved to fish, cook, and eat. John was a very hardworking man and liked to build and grow things. Had a very generous spirit and was always trying to help someone better themselves whether it was his employees or his friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed by all those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his sons, William Jason Norris and fiancé Krisiti Nelson, and Christopher Lance Norris; his grandchildren, Christopher Norris, Matthew Norris, Julian Norris, and Trinity Connally; his father, William Pruitt; his brothers, Larry Norris and wife Melinda, Jimmy Norris and wife Debbie; his sister, Rhonda Ritchey and husband Rick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was Preceded in death by his son, Matthew Shane Norris; and his mother, Myrna Pruitt.

The family suggests memorial donations in John’s honor to Hendrick Hospice Care.
