Jean Jones

Jean Elizabeth Jones was born December 23, 1943, in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Canada to Olive and John Shortliffe. She was the youngest daughter of 10 children. After growing up in Shelburne she moved to New York in 1962 where she had her four children, Albert, Elizabeth, Lisa, Marion, and Larry. She later moved to Buffalo Gap, TX in 1982 where she met and married the love of her life, Troy Jones. She was a proud resident of Buffalo Gap until her passing on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. She was a hard worker and worked at the Abilene State School as a unit supervisor for many years until her retirement in 1997.

She was an amazing and caring woman full of love for her family and friends. She loved Jesus and was a member of Beltway Park Baptist Church. She was also very independent and strong willed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; two sisters; husband, Troy; and her children, Albert, Elizabeth, and Lisa.

She is survived by her brothers, Sammie and Donnie; sister, Bet; son, Larry and his wife Stevi; dauthter, Marion Dorsey Loomis and husband Larry; grandchildren, Wubby, Tiesha, Quienshana, Leslie, Errial, Shaliko, Dominique, Antoine, Bryan, Dina, Eryka, Larry III, and Blaze; as well as multiple great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
