Glenda Stringfellow

Glenda "Grumpie" Stringfellow went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. She was born August 24, 1934 in Delta County to Homer Bowen and Mary Ellen Edwards.
She married the love o her life Clifton Stringfellow in 1956. From 1966 to 1993 they owned and operated Sav-A-Minit grocery, a "Mom and Pop" store. In 1984 they founded "Grumpies Specialties", a candy store in Baird, Texas and operated it until retiring in 1997. She then drove for Meals on Wheels for many years.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Judy Laurence, 2 sisters, Edith Boren and Hazel Singer.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Barth (Bill); 5 grandchildren, Julie Montes (Gil), Scott Edwards (Marisa), Jason Edwards (Krista), Austin and Hunter Laurence; 11 great grandchildren, Ashlee Aguire, Hayden Edwards, Kiley and Cameron Laurence, Georgia, Isaac and Gracie Montes, Fernando, Huey, Riley, and Micah Edwards and one baby boy Laurence on the way.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South Abilene, Texas 79606.
