Eloise Mccoy

Audrey Eloise McCoy (Eloise), age 94, passed away on January 11, 2021 at Windcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center in the care of the Windcrest Nursing Staff and Hospice of the Big Country. Eloise was born April 6, 1926 in Crowell, Foard County, Texas. Eloise was the eleventh child of twelve children born to William Robert Hudgens and Myrtice Viola Hudgens (Henyan).

Eloise married Roy L. McCoy in March of 1946 in Abilene, Texas. Eloise raised three children and was active in their school and sports activities. She was proud of her family and especially her grandchildren Travis and Stacy. In the 1960s Eloise began working outside of the home for Thornton’s Dept. Store. In the late 1970s and early 1980s she was the Women’s Ready to Wear Buyer for Grissom’s Dept. Store. At the time she retired she sold furniture for the Andrew’s Furniture Companies.

In retirement, she and her husband Roy traveled in the American West and were active members of Fairmont United Methodist Church. They will each be remembered for their friendly nature, hospitality and commitment to their brothers and sisters.

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Roy L. McCoy, and her daughter Janet Kay Burk.

Eloise is survived by her daughter Cheryl McCoy-Davis (Gary), son Thomas McCoy (Kimberly), granddaughter Stacy Parker (John), and grandson Travis Burk.

Funeral arrangement services were provided under the care and direction of the staff of Elmwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park. A private family graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sandra Hazelip and acknowledge the service of all care givers who cared for Eloise in her final months.
