Dwan transitioned Thursday, February 13th, 2020. A Home going Celebration will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in Albany Cemetery, Albany, Texas

Dwan Frances “Nona” Dean-Robinson was born February 6th, 1977, in Breckenridge, Texas to Paula Alexander Garner and Edward Dean Sr.

At a young age, Dwan accepted Christ in her life, and later instilled those, and other vital values into her family. Dwan graduated from Abilene High School in 1995, and then briefly attended TSTC. In 1997, she married Floyd Robinson Jr. and moved her family to Fort Worth.

Dwan moved back to Abilene late 2006, where she had her 4th child, and continued raising her family with determination and sternness— she was a very involved and engaged in her children’s schools, making sure the teachers knew her children were loved and taught at home. Dwan was adamant her children were taught the most valuable lessons of life: respecting people, a child staying in a child’s place, sticking together, family first, and “no separating and dividing”. Everyone who knew Dwan, knew she took pride in her family.

Dwan was a wonderful listener, debater, and protector, who gave advice, counseled, and mothered everyone she came across. It was easy to forget your problems whenever she was around. She talked the talk, and walked the walk.

Recently, Dwan had the opportunity to be the head cheer coach for Abilene Cowboys Youth Football team, where she passionately taught and shared one of her adolescence enjoyments with her granddaughter, Paislee, and other young girls.

Dwan leaves her husband, Floyd Robinson Jr. of 26 years(married 23), her children, Kierra Dean-Robinson, Ki’Yauna Robinson, Kamora Robinson, and Idris “K’syn” Robinson, her stepchildren, Acasia Robinson and Adrian Robinson, her grandchildren, Paislee “Nonagirl” and Krai “Nonaguy”, her step grandchildren, Caison, Rea, Kaylem, Cailynn, Kyler “Turtle”, and Xara.

Dwan is survived by her grandfather, J.W Alexander, her parents, Paula Alexander Garner and Edward Dean Sr., her siblings, Monique Alexander(children- Lacy, Janari), Edward “E.D.” Dean Jr.(children- Emarion, Odayleon, Kordae, Corson), Lacy, and god sister, Janeen Robinson(children- Jahaziel, Benjamin Jr.) mother-in-law, Billie Robinson, her aunts, Candi Dunning(husband- Curnell), Jo Alexander, her uncles, Dale Dean, Johnny Dean, Jaime Dean, and Charles Dean, 4 brother-n-laws and 7 sisters-in-law, her cousins, Ray Alexander, Paul Weaver(wife- Dee), Dewayne Dunning(wife- Trixie), Marcus Alexander(wife- Stephanie), Mellani Royals(husband- Mitch), Misti Tate, Ashten Alexander, Raquel Garrett, and JD Dean, her friends, Monica Peoples and Courtney Bradford, and many other nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends, and associates.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Allen Garner and her father-in-law, Floyd Robinson Sr., her grandmother Francis Cumby, nieces Lacy Norman, uncles Rocky Alexander, Dale Dean, Larry Dean, James Dean and cousin Ashford Alexander, Mylliah Royals
