Obituary

Donald Ray “Donnie” Martin passed away in peace on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the age of 62 in Abilene, TX.

He was born to the late Joe and Mary Katherine Martin in OH on June 15,1959. Donnie attended Russell High School, and grew up in the Russell/Raceland/Boyd area in KY. He was an avid hunter for most of his life as well as a nature enthusiast. He joined the Marines after high school, and later returned home. Since that time, he moved to the Abilene, TX area to be closer to two of his daughters.

Donnie was blessed with a family who loved him dearly and maintained a valuable friendship up until his death with his ex wife and the mother of his children, Mary Jo Rowe. Together they helped to instill values of hard work, love, family, dignity, generosity, honor and respect within the family. The couple was also very proud when all four of their daughters joined the USAF (active duty) and completed a successful and honorable military career.

Donnie always had a calm and gentle demeanor with many friends and family whom would say that he had a positive impact on their lives. He was very giving to others and would gladly help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

Donnie is survived by his older sister, Pamela Martin; his daughters, Stacy Salyers Hollingsworth (Jeffrey), Allison Adams Clifton (Jared), Amber Martin Grashof (Daniel), and Samantha Dawn Martin; and his grandchildren Peyton, Finley, and Miles Hollingsworth; Ethan Clifton; Makayla, Alanna, Isaiah, and Noah Grashof; and Parker Martin.
