Deanna Dean Askins, 77, of Abilene, Texas, passed away Monday June 27, 2022.

Deanna was born on September 6, 1944, in Haskell, Texas to the late Oscar and Sadie Lees Helweg. She married Robert “Bob” Askins on November 19, 1999 and was blessed with 11 years of marriage until his passing in 2011. Deanna worked as an escrow officer until her retirement. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that always made time to listen and care for her family. God gave her many talents. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She loved baking chocolate pies and always had a treat ready for anyone who visited. One of her best attributes was how she viewed life. Even when adversity came her way, she focused more on the blessings God had given her than the negative circumstances. The last year of her life was very difficult, and we are so thankful she is now at peace in the arms of Jesus.

Deanna is survived by her three children, Debbie Owens and her husband Rodney, Barbara Richert and her husband Ron, Lisa Lewis and her husband Quinn. Grandchildren; Kevin Giles, Lauren Askew and her husband JW, Riley Owens and wife JoLynn, Haley Brown and her husband Phillip, Hayden Lewis, Logan Lewis, Aubrey Richert and Sarah Richert. Great-grandchildren; Avarie Myrick, Kooper Lowther, Oaklin Giles, Evalynn Owens and Amelia Owens. Donations may be made in her memory to Cancer Services Network, 1218 North 4th Suite 213, Abilene, Texas 79601.
