David Wayne Koons passed away on August 19, 2019 in Abilene, Texas.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Road Abilene, Texas.

David was born on November 28, 1962 to Steve and Nancy Koons. He graduated from Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, VA in 1981. Shortly after graduating from high school, David joined the Navy where he served his country loyally for twenty years. David is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Alex Koons, as well as his three daughters, Bianca Baldoza, Jessica Griffin and husband Jason, and Rachel Usry and husband Neal; his four grandchildren, Eric Baldoza Jr., Natali Baldoza, Sofia Baldoza, and Isaac Griffin; his mother, Nancy Koons; his mother in law, Elivra Robles; son in law, Eric Baldoza; his sister, Mary Moore; his brother, George Koons; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Steve Koons; daughter Tabitha Koons, and his father in law, Isaac Robles.

David was an extremely talented artist in both theatrical makeup and sketching. He loved movies, cooking, spending time with his family, and telling jokes. After his time in the Navy, he worked as a licensed optician and a pre-need funeral counselor in the Abilene community. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He filled our lives with joy and will forever be in our hearts.
