Alice Louvena Griggs, 86, of Abilene passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Abilene.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 2 PM at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Alice was born on November 21, 1934 in Coleman county, to the late Marvin Jetton Nations and Mary Elmittie Skaggs Nations. She married Everett Arnold Griggs on July 3, 1972 and they were blessed with 44 years of marriage until Arnold’s passing on March 31, 2017.
She attended First United Methodist Church of Abilene and was active in her Sunday school and other activities. Alice was an award-winning quilter and a Master Gardner. She was very artistic and talented.
Alice is survived by her grandson Tony Canon; a great-granddaughter Kasie and husband Joe; a great-grandson Brandon; her sisters, Lydia, Laura, Ruby, Linnie, and Carma; her stepdaughter, Nancy; grandson, Levi Kontos and his wife Laura; two great-granddaughters and a great grandson of Wisconsin; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Pennie; a grandson, Dusty and a great-grandson, Timothy; siblings, Lela Manuel, Minnie Murl, Larry Ben, Alton Jetton and Dorothy LaVeda.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Service Center and Food Pantries of Abilene.
