Willis Little

Willis D. Little, of Abilene, 88, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2007 at a local care center.

Graveside service with military honors will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South with Rev. Kevin Ueckert officiating under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home.

Willis was born on July 1, 1919 in Kansas City, Kansas to Willis Lilborn Looney Little and Vida Mae Tisdale Little. He was proud to have served in the United States National Guard, Army, and Air Force. He served in North Africa, Sasablance, Orange where he built parts for Pattons troops; also while serving in Italy he built and repaired parts and machinery. He married Alice Rogers on August 3, 1942 in Vancouver, Washington; they were married for 61 years. They had two sons, James W. born on June 29, 1943 and Danny L. born September 23, 1945. After the boys were grown they enjoyed traveling in the motor home. Willis has been a member of South Side Baptist Church for over 60 years.

He is survived by his son, James Jim Little and wife, JoAnn of Abilene; sister, Jewell Courtney of Kyle; grandsons, James David Little of Dallas and Danny Wayne Little and wife, Trudy of Abilene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, July 22, 2003 and a son, Danny Leonard Little.
