Valentine "Val" Blassingame, 87, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Abilene.
Val was born on February 14, 1939, to Frank and Leona Adcock in Texarkana. She spent her younger years growing up in Texarkana and Arkansas, where she made many cherished memories and developed the warm and caring spirit that would define her life.
After graduating from high school, Val spent time singing, sharing her beautiful voice and love of music with others. She later met the love of her life, David Blassingame, and together they built a life filled with love, faith, and treasured years together.
Val had a creative heart and found great joy in scrapbooking, preserving precious memories for her family and friends. She was also a devoted member of First Church of the Nazarene, where her faith remained an important part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David C. Blassingame; her parents, Frank and Leona Adcock; and her siblings.
Val is survived by her son, Clint Blassingame; her grandchildren, Noah Blassingame, Nicolas Blassingame, Stacey Perkins, Mandy Blassingame, John Blassingame, and Samantha Lefler.
Val will be remembered for her loving spirit, her creativity, her strong faith, and the kindness she shared with everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
