Sylvia Latham Slatton passed peacefully in Abilene, Texas, on August 2, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by love, devotion, and the presence of her daughter.
Born in Eastland, Texas, on March 1, 1939, Sylvia grew up with a heart full of faith, grace, and ambition. She graduated from Eastland High School and, later in life, pursued her passion for care and service by completing her LVN nursing certification at Cisco Junior College.
Sylvia was married for 55 years to the love of her life, Don "The Lawman" Slatton-a well-known professional wrestler, promoter, and entrepreneur. Together, they built a life rooted in Christian values, filled with love, laughter, hard work, and unforgettable adventures. Their legacy included decades of public service, feature films, and their long-standing business, SOS Bail Bonds. Through it all, Sylvia remained the guiding light and heart of their family.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Donna J. Slatton, and her cherished French Beauceron grand-dog, Diablé.
Sylvia's passions were many. She loved interior decorating, gardening, and cherished her time at the lake house and family ranch. She adored collecting antique dolls, was active in the Woman's Club, and spent years lovingly volunteering in her church. A lifelong Baptist, she was deeply involved at Wylie Baptist Church, especially in Sunday School and visiting elderly members in nursing homes.
Sylvia embodied grace, faith, and quiet strength. A loving wife, mother, and friend, her radiant spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
With Profound Gratitude
The family extends their deepest appreciation to the many angels who cared for Sylvia throughout her final chapter. A special and heartfelt tribute goes to Tera, whose love, compassion, and tireless care made her feel like both a daughter and sister-a gift beyond measure.
With sincere thanks and love to Wanda, Mickey, Donna Lee, Diane, Renee, Mandy, Gretta, and Nicole for their beautiful presence, strength, and care. Gratitude also to the incredible teams from Home Instead and InHabit, whose support brought peace and dignity to Sylvia's journey.
To Dr. Victor Hudman, your guidance and devotion over the past three and a half years were a true blessing. Your angelic presence gave strength and comfort every step of the way.
