Susan D. Long, 74, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 in Abilene, Texas.
Susan was born on November 2, 1951, in Abilene, Texas, to her father Ramon Medrano and mother Consuelo Diaz.
As a devoted member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, Susan's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a kind soul, always willing to lend a hand to those in need, and her caring nature made her a beloved figure in her community.
Susan's dedication to her family was unwavering. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bob Long of 53 years; they married on October 2, 1972. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, with whom she loved spending time gardening and creating memories that will be treasured forever. Susan found joy in the simplest of pleasures, immersing herself in arts and crafts that she shared with her family and friends, as well as playing Loteria with the family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Long; her sons, Raymond Joseph Long and Christopher Aaron Long; her grandchildren, Anthony Long, Isabella Long, Jacob Long, Ryan Long, and Sophia Long; and her aunt, Mary Rose Busch.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Enrique V. Diaz; her grandmother, Martina Trevizo; her father, Ramon Medrano; her mother, Consuelo Medrano; her sister, Rebecca Medrano; and her brother, Benito Medrano.
Services will be held at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Dr, Abilene, Texas, on Wednesday July 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Visitation and Rosary will be Tuesday, June 30, 2026, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 S, Abilene, Texas. Interment will be at Abilene Municipal Cemetery.
