Shirley Gibson

Shirley Maxine Gibson, 77, of Abilene passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, in Abilene.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S, Abilene, TX. Interment will take place on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Shirley was born on April 29, 1945, in Abilene, TX to the late Joe Frazier and Maxine Roberts Frazier. She was a very hard worker and was the co-owner of Gibson Motors. Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. If you were blessed to have Shirley as your friend, you knew you had someone special and willing to always be there and help a friend in need. Her real love was her family and taking long camping trips together and sleeping under the stars. Shirley was a Christian in every sense of the word and will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her children, Annette Downing, April Sweatt and husband Leonard, Angela Downing, Trey Downing and wife Leann; grandchildren, Jeffrey Brush and wife Elizabeth, Stefanie Gammage and husband Percy, Allison Vaughan, Payton Downing, Jacob Downing, Osten Downing; great grandchildren, Mason Gammage, Sienna Gammage, Royal Downing, Izabella Coffman; siblings, Alton Frazier wife Darla, Barbara Gray and husband Doyle, Jimmy Frazier, Sharon Jones and husband Donald, Gerald Frazier and wife Debra, Ronnie Frazier and wife Lisa; numerous extended family and friends.
