Patsy Shaddix

December 17, 1947 — November 27, 2023

Patsy Shaddix, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister peacefully passed away on November 27, 2023. Born on December 17, 1947, in Brownwood, TX to parents, Arthur and Stella Williams, she lived a joyful and fulfilling life surrounded by loved ones.

Patsy's journey started at Abilene High School, where she met the love of her life, Woodrow Shaddix. They tied the knot in 1965 and celebrated a blissful marriage of fifty-eight years before his passing in August. Together, they owned and operated Shaddix Implement for over two decades, becoming integral members of the community until their retirement in 2013.

Upon retirement, Patsy and Woodrow settled on their beloved farm in Hodges, where Patsy cultivated her passions. She had a green thumb and took pleasure in tending to her gardens, nurturing her vibrant flowers, caring for her chickens, or even playing tag with the "friendly country armadillo". Patsy's farm was a haven for her cherished family, and she adored hosting "BBQs on the farm," creating unforgettable memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Family meant the world to Patsy, and her love and warm personality endeared her to everyone she knew. She found delight in cooking and spending quality time with her kids and grandkids, making every gathering a treasured occasion. As a testament to her devotion, Patsy transformed her farm into a "tiny town," with streets named after her grandchildren.

Patsy is survived by her loving children, daughter, Cassie Stevens and her husband Todd, and son Douglas Shaddix. Her memory lives on through her five grandchildren, Richard Krause, Mason Krause, Megan Krause, Andrew Dempsey, and Hailey Shaddix, as well as her nine great-grandchildren, Kye, Harlee Evans, Noah, Christopher, Paisleigh, Averly, Ivy, Octavia, and Amelia. Additionally, she leaves behind her sisters, Trisha Pace and Carolyn Williams, and her brother Arlan Williams and his wife Barbara; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow; her parents; her brother, Alton Williams, and sister Wanda Coats.

A celebration of Patsy's remarkable life and the legacy will be held on December 4, 2023, at 10:00 am. at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, located at 5750 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will take place on December 3, 2023, from 4:00 till 6:00 pm. The interment will follow the Funeral Service on December 4, 2023, in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Patsy's infectious laughter, warm heart, and unwavering love will forever be etched in our memories. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Pallbearers for the service will be Todd Stevens, Richard Krause, Mason Krause, Andrew Dempsey, Kye Krause, and Noah Krause.
