Ruth Polk

Ruth Polk, 87, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 2, 2011 in the Garden of Good Shepherd at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Ruth was born on May 15, 1923. She was a loving, caring, family oriented person who was a mother and granny to many over the years. She was a hard worker with a strong work ethic and had worked up until 3 weeks before her death.

Survivors include her daughters, Willie Ruth Pongratz of Madison, Tennessee, Shirley Pearl Coley of Loganville, Georgia, Patsy Louise Poke and Paulette Thomas both of Abilene 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Her son, James Laron Polk preceded her in death.
