Rosie Bloom

Rosie Marie Bloom was born January 16, 1958, in Abilene, Texas to the parentage of Ernest Walker and Harvey Lee Walker. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2025, at Baylor Scott and White Heart hospital (Plano) with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:00am at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Elmwood Funeral Home. Bural will be at the Abilene City Cemetery, in the IOOF (Independent of Odd Fellow Section) Saturday August 30, 2025 at 11:45am.

Rosie attended Abilene Cooper High School and began her early working career at Texas Instruments (TI), as she later retired from the Abilene State School as a dietary tech. Rosie loved to fish, travel, cook, and spend time with her immediate family as well as her church family. She was also a dedicated member and served on the usher board at Galilee Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Bobby L. King Sr.

Rosie was married to Robert Bloom Jr, her life partner of 45 years and from this union shared 4 children.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Walker and mother, Harvey Lee Walker; 2 brothers, Herman Paxton Walker and Sammy Charles Walker; 1 sister, Linda Kay King; and her special needs son, Carlos Lamont Walker.

She leaves to celebrate her life; 2 sons, Michael Walker Thomas and Carl Bloom (Amber) both of Abilene, Tx. 1 daughter, Tonya Pollard of Ft. Worth, Tx and one God daughter, Jackie Beaver (Grand Prairie, Tx). She also leaves behind 2 brothers, Lorenzo Walker and Joe Walker (Abilene); 2 sisters, Robbie Walker and Brenda Walker (Abilene); 6 grandchildren, Dantreal, K'Shawn, Mardasia, Ja'Quelan, Avery, and Karlie along with 6 beautiful great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of friends, along with her Galilee Baptist Church family.
