Robert Lee Qualls, 89, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on August 4, 2025.
He was born on December 15, 1935, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to his parents John and Ruth Qualls.
He is survived by his son, Roddy Lee Qualls and wife Lorraine; grandchildren, Rustin Lee Qualls and wife Margo, Rylie Sebesta and husband Nathan, and Eric Hutton and wife Ashley; and his five great-grandchildren: Rendon Lee Qualls, Ava Sebesta, Nora Sebesta, Brady Hutton, and Carter Hutton and his sister, Lou Ann Freeman.
Robert was an avid sports fan, always cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He also enjoyed NASCAR and horse racing, never missing a chance to catch a good race. He was a man of strong faith who served as a deacon at Elmcrest Baptist Church for many years. Most recently, he was a devoted member of Crossway Baptist Church, where he remained actively involved and faithfully attended weekly Bible study.
He retired from Owens Sausage Company after more than 30 years of dedicated service, where he was honored with the Gold Horseshoe Ring - a symbol of his hard work and commitment.
Robert was a go-getter through and through. He lived independently for many years and remained active, even mowing his own lawn up until his passing. His determination, independence, and quiet strength were admired by all who knew him. His legacy is one of integrity, faith, and deep love for his family. He led by example and left a lasting impression on every life he touched.
A funeral service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Saturday, August 9th, at Crossway Baptist Church, 1458 Sewell, Abilene, Tx. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am; with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at Lower Greens Creek Cemetery in Dublin, Tx.
