Robert Bailey

Robert Lee (Bob) Bailey died unexpectedly on February 1, 2022, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Bob was born on December 13th 1944, in New York City to Tex & Louise Bailey. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Peggy Lanell (Shelton) Bailey, brother Ronnie Bailey, daughters Lisa Bailey, Jamie Arrington, son in law Cody Arrington, grandchildren Jade, Creed and Colt. He is preceded in death by his Mother Louise and Father Tex, Grandmother Pauline, in-laws Erma and Lee Shelton.

Bob owned and operated B&L Carpets for 49 years before retiring in 2019. His passion was sharing time with Peggy and his 3 grandchildren. His spare time was spent working on the family ranch, something the dearly loved.

Over his 49 years in Abilene, he become friends with many. Those lucky folks found that Bob was incredibly kindhearted and always lent a helping hand. Our loss will touch many.

A Funeral service for Bob will be held Tuesday February 8, 2022, at 2 pm at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S. Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
