Rhon Evans

February 2, 1956 — November 24, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rhon Paul Evans, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on November 24, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on February 2, 1956, in Camp Zama, Japan, Rhon spent his formative years in Atlanta, Georgia, embracing life with a vibrant spirit and an infectious smile.

Rhon proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting on January 7, 1980, and receiving an honorable discharge in 1983. Following his service, he moved to Abilene, Texas, where he found not only a community but also the love of his life, Nina Harmon. They formed a beautiful partnership in 2016, embracing the joys of life together and creating lasting memories.

As an accomplished aircraft mechanic, Rhon dedicated his professional life to the precision and intricacy required in his trade. Outside of work, he was known for his love of conversation, often sharing stories that reflected his rich experiences. Rhon also had a green thumb, nurturing his garden with the same passion he brought to his relationships.

He leaves behind a loving family, Nina, David and Cecilia, Teresa and John, and his beloved grandchildren: Brittny, Chad, Megan, Colton, Danielle , Nathaniel, Morgan, Hunter, Chase, and Matt. Treasured great grandchildren Hudson, Braylynn, Waylon and Renly .Rhon is also survived by his brother, Nick Evans, and his loyal companion, Duke, the spirited Chihuahua who was always by his side.

A Funeral Service for Rhon will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at the ConnectionPoint at Lytle Shores Baptist Church. We gather to celebrate and share stories of the impact he had on our lives, followed by his burial at Elmwood Memorial Park 5750 Hwy 277 south.
