Ray Stroope
April 24, 1935 — February 2, 2019
Ray J. Stroope, 84, of Abilene went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at home in Abilene. Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Ten Commandments Section.
Ray was born April 24, 1934 in Rising Star, Texas to James Monroe Stroope and Bessie Mae Booker Stroope. Ray married the love of his life, Dorothy Stroope on January 2, 1956 in Abilene and they shared 58 happy years together. He was a Painter and Mud Man and loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Stroope; and 12 siblings.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Deanna Stroope; his son, James Stroope; four grandchildren, Kaycee, Seth, Garrett, Joe Riley; two great grandchildren, Keghan, and Harley.
