Quindonell Hall

November 23, 1913 — June 18, 2008


Quindonell Quin Hall, went home to be with the Lord at 12:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was 94 years old.

Her funeral service, with Weldon Gann Gib Meyer officiating, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 20th at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Viewing and visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Thursday at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Quindonell Kirby Hall was born in Winters, Texas on November 23, 1913 to Joe and Leona Moxley Kirby. She moved with her family to Abilene when she was eleven years old where she graduated from Abilene High School in 1930. After graduation, she married William B. Bill Hall on June 6, 1930. They lived in Dallas until 1936 when they returned to Abilene. They were married for 68 years until his death on December 4, 1998.

Quin was baptized at the age of 13 at the old Abilene Christian College Church of Christ on North 1st Street which met in the administration building of the college. She was a homemaker while raising her children, and after her children were grown, she worked with her husband at Abilene Nursery for many years. She was a Bible Class teacher at Highland and then at 16th and Vine Church of Christ where her husband served as an elder for 32 years. They fed many college kids through the years. In later years, they attended 14th and Oak Church of Christ.

Quindonell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a sister, Zora Belle Grasiano of Abilene.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Hall and wife Alice of Abilene, Clifford Hall and wife Gail of Granbury; and one daughter, Marisue Meyer and husband Chuck of Abilene; six grandchildren, Gib Meyer and wife Roberta of Arlington, Cyd Meyer Miller and husband John of Little Rock, Arkansas, Patricia Phillips and husband Brian of Ft. Worth, Cindy Simmons of Abilene, Cris Hall and wife Kristy of Aledo and Alan Hall of Dallas; and seven great grandchildren.

Memorial donations are suggested to Women for ACU, Jennings House Museum.
