Peggy Campbell

March 1, 1960 — April 12, 2024

Peggy Dawn Campbell, beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, in Abilene, Texas, at the age of 64. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South.

Born on March 1, 1960, to Paul and Eleanor Angleton in Abilene, Peggy's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering dedication. After graduating from Abilene High School in 1978, Peggy embarked on a journey of love and commitment when she married Jimmy. Together, they shared a bond that was a source of strength and joy for all who knew them.

Peggy's life was defined by her unparalleled kindness and selflessness. She possessed a rare gift for caregiving, always ready to lend a helping hand and go above and beyond for those in need. Her compassionate nature touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Beyond her caring nature, Peggy was a woman of remarkable resilience and determination. Her strength was evident to all who crossed her path, and she could outrun and outwork most anyone with grace and perseverance. Jimmy always said she was his 120 pounds of dynamite.

In her leisure time, Peggy found solace and joy in nature with her animals, particularly her dogs, which she called her babies. Peggy also loved the lake, where she enjoyed fishing and relaxing. If you knew Peggy, then you know that she loved going to the Casino and playing the slot machines, and she had the special touch and luck.

She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Jimmy Campbell; her sons, Ricky Campbell (Christy Campbell), Chris Campbell (Kayla Wells), and Colton Campbell (Chloe Bean); grandchildren, Archer, Finley, Carter, and Grayson; mother-in-law, Mary Campbell; her siblings, Mark Angleton, Gareth Angleton (Susan), and Rocky Angleton; her best friend, Carrel Arey; her fur babies, Carley Jo, and Ellie Mae; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Peggy will be deeply missed by her loving family and countless friends whose lives she enriched with her presence. Her legacy of kindness, hard work, and love will continue to inspire and guide us all.
