Patricia June Davis

June 12, 1941 — February 24, 2026

Patricia June Davis, 84, passed away on February 24, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas.

Patricia was born on June 12, 1941, in Abilene, Texas, spending her early years there with her parents & siblings. She married William Haskell Davis Jr at an early age, where they and their growing family would live either by his family in the piney woods of northeast Texas, or by her family in the mesquite filled west Texas. They eventually settled midway between the two at Arlington, Texas.

Patricia was a woman of determination and lifelong learning. After years of being a stay at home home-maker, she found herself in a position of needing to join the work force. She began this era by taking classes that led her into secretarial work, but her ambition carried her further. She returned to school to study accounting and went on to work for Johnson & Johnson, where she built a successful career before retiring. As her own mother began to age, she knew she would need to learn some medical skills. So she went back to school at the age of 50, becoming a registered nurse. She devoted several years to caring for others as a floor nurse and an MICU nurse at the VA Hospital in Dallas and later as a dialysis nurse in Tyler. Eventual retiring again to lovingly care for her elderly aunt and later her mother.

A lifelong passion was her time spent out in her yard, "digging in the dirt". She found solace and happiness outdoors in nature, planning flowerbeds, thing out & moving bulbs, azalea bushes, crepe myrtles, water features and decking. She had a gift for creating both peace and beauty in her outdoor oasis.

Above all, Patricia will be remembered for her nurturing spirit. She was truly the "mother of all mothers," extending her love and guidance not only to her own children but also to their friends and her coworkers, seeing herself as a "mother hen to her chicks".

Patricia's life was marked by resilience, compassion, and quiet achievement. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and her legacy of love, hard work, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack H. and Doris E. Scurlock; her siblings, Tommy K. Scurlock, and Billy J. Scurlock; and one grandchild, Bryce A. Clemmer.

Patricia is survived by her children, Trey Davis and Jim Williams, Teri K. Marant, Angela G. Clemmer, and Lisa M.Cronin; her grandchildren, Matthew Seda, Justin Cronin, Devin Clemmer, Jenifer Cronin, and Jordan Cronin; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
