Pat Wayne Phillips Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pat Wayne Phillips Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who departed this life on January 23, 2026. Born May 18, 1958, in Odessa, Texas, Pat brought joy, kindness, and laughter to all who knew him. He made his home in Abilene, Texas, where he built a life rich in family, love and cherished memories.

A dedicated truck driver, Pat embraced the freedom of the open road, finding adventure in every mile. He also had a lifelong passion for working on cars, taking pride in keeping them running smoothly and often lending his mechanical skills to help family and friends. Later in life, he discovered peace in fishing, often sharing trips with his lifelong friend Roy Brown. He nurtured a love for reading as well, especially western novels, which offered him endless escapes into new worlds.

Pat treasured his time with his beloved wife, Vicky, exploring the beauty of new places together. Their travels to Mississippi and Louisiana remain among their most memorable adventures. At home, he became famous for his love to cook family breakfast, especially biscuits and homemade gravy—a staple at family gatherings and a symbol of his warmth and hospitality.

He leaves behind a vibrant legacy through his children: son Pat Phillips Jr. and wife Kinsey, with their children Finn and Sarin; daughter Nicki Phillips, with children Thadeus , Jaci , and Kaylub ; daughter Chelsea McClung and husband Tony, with children Killian, Chad, Samantha, and Logan; daughter Holly Phillips and her daughter Emma; and son Johnny Alan Goff, with children Stormy, Samuel, and Seth. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy McQuilkin, Susan Brown, Gwen McCormick, Jodie Weathers, and Pam Miley.

Visitation will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home on February 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable man. A graveside service will follow at Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., offering a final moment to honor his memory and spirit.

Pat will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, his kindness to friends, and the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Phillips and Betty Bax; two brothers, Johnny and Steve Phillips; and a sister, Jan Phillips.
