Pamela Rowe

Pamela Rowe, 71, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 in Hawley. A visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Hawley Church of Christ, 410 4th Street Hawley, Texas. Interment will follow the service in Central Cemetery in Hawley, Texas.

Pamela was born September 11, 1950 in Iraan, Texas to Bernard and Annabelle Boyd. She attended and graduated from Iraan High School. After graduation Pamela went to Abilene Christian University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science. She enjoyed playing cards, working in her yard, and in her early years fishing, and water skiing. One of her favorite things was to cook home cooked meals and have her family over to enjoy. Pamela built her own home all on her own and was very proud of that home. She always made sure it was well maintained and clean.  Pamela was a proud member of the Hawley Church of Christ and the community of Hawley. She was known for her Sandtart cookies that were famous in Hawley. For 36 years Pamela served the community of Hawley as a first grade teacher. She always worked multiple jobs at a time to help her family. Pamela started the Sunshine Patch daycare in Hawley, worked for Lyndale in Abilene, and also worked for the Taylor County Sheriff’s department.  Even though Pamela wore many different hats she never missed an event for her children or grandchildren. Above all Pamela loved her family with her grandsons having the biggest part of her heart. Pamela’s hard work, love and dedication will be a legacy to carry on through her family for years to come.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Paula Kinnard; and her brother in law, Jake Kinnard.

Pamela is survived by her two daughters, Tammy Young, and Regina Kolkhorst and her husband Meason; her two grandsons, Drew Young, and Kaden Young; her nieces, Christine Green and family, and DeBora Turpin and family; her nephew, Martin Kinnard and family; her cousins, Sandy and Clint Mcleroy; her fur baby, Simba; and family; and several friends, and students.
