Narvel M. Stanley was born March 1, 1938, in Prestonsburg, Ky to George C. Stanley Sr. and Fannie Irene Goble Stanley. He was one of 7 children, one sister, and five brothers. He joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and was stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene. It's here he met and married Linda Tatom Stanley, a marriage that lasted 61 years. After leaving the AF, he worked primarily in the banking industry where he developed many lasting friendships. He loved the Lord, his family, and his church. He was a dedicated member and Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mertie Ousley; brothers, George Stanley Jr., Gene Stanley, Ronnie Stanley, and Richard Stanley.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; brother, James Stanley and wife Kay of Amarillo; his son, Steve Stanley of Fort Worth; daughter, Kelly Huschke and husband Bryan of Decatur. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kayleigh Tidwell and husband Logan of Springtown, Kyann Hardin and husband Danny of Midland, Mason Gill and wife Kailey of Sanger, Joy Stanley, Kaitlynn Stanley, Emma Stanley, and Tatom Stanley, all of Fort Worth; his eight great grandchildren, Riley Tidwell, Alexis Tidwell, Noah Tidwell, of Springtown, Carter Hardin, Kamryn Rae Hardin, Hannah Kate Hardin, of Midland, Carson Gill, Madden Gill, of Sanger; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was the best husband, daddy, and Pap we could have asked for. Graveside service will be at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 S, with full military honors, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
