Michael Soto

Michael Wayne Soto, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2022, 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, on Friday, October 14, 2022, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Michael was born on August 24, 1966, in Odessa, Texas. He moved to Abilene in 1984 and was a dedicated Parts Manager for Lithia Toyota for over 20 years. He enjoyed working on cars, especially with his brother-in-law, Albert Castillo.
Michael married the love of his life, Mary Jane Aguillon in 2006. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and children. Together they created memories on vacations going to Colorado, Las Vegas, Ruidoso, and on cruises. Michael liked playing sports, watching football with his sons, talking about the San Antonio Spurs with his daughter, and he was a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed bowling, was part of a bowling league and "claimed" to his wife to be a 1st place winner. Michael told the best corny jokes and loved to laugh and joke around. Above all he loved his family and was very proud of his children. Michael leaves a legacy that will carry on for generations to come.
Michael is preceded in death by his brother, Jason Forrester; uncles, Jack Nieto, Gomecindo Soto, and Alex Mendoza; aunt, Becky Mendoza; and cousin, Alex Mendoza, Jr.
Michael is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Aguillon; sons, Mikey Soto, Rey Soto, and Angel Aguillon; daughter, Jessica Diaz; and DayDay Jones, who was like a son to Michael; his father, Mike Soto, Jr; brother, Greg Soto; sisters, Jonna Soto-Ledyard, and Janita Soto; aunt Stella Nieto, who was like a mom to him; his cousin Maria Soto, who he fought with but loved like a sister; and several other cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Pallbearers will be, Albert Castillo, Johnny Castillo, Josh Dora, Ruston Tidmore, Terrence Burke, and Steven Forbus.
The family would like to thank, Kenan Pyeatt, and Michael's co-workers from Lithia Toyota, for being so supportive during this time.
