Michael Rains

Michael Ray Rains, 59, passed away July 12, 2009 in Abilene. His memorial service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, officiated by Reverend Wayne Oglesby.

Michael was born July 21, 1949 in Borger, Texas to Bernis and Minnie Rains. He was a 1967 graduate of Cooper High School. Up until his retirement, in 2005 he spent 40 years working as a manager in the food service industry. He enjoyed fishing, ceramic art, and spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Survivors include his four children, Stacie Dominguez of Abilene, Melissa Kerbo and husband Terry of Abilene, Michelle Hernandez and husband Noe of Abilene, and David Cooley of Eastland; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Corey, Seth, Maya, Audrey, Ava, and William.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernis and Minnie Rains, and his brother, Larry.
