Megan Jiminez

January 21, 1992 — May 10, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved Megan Leigh Ann Jiminez of Abilene, Texas, has gained her angel wings. Though she is no longer with us, she now watches over us as our guardian angel. Megan left this world far too soon on May 10, 2025 at 33 years old. Her vibrant presence, loving spirit, and unforgettable personality touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Please join us as we celebrate Megan’s beautiful life. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a Rosary beginning at 5:00 PM, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 19, 2025, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 2525 Westview, followed by interment at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Born on January 21, 1992, Megan was the cherished daughter of John and Norma Johnson. She graduated from Abilene High School in 2010 and was known for her cheeky and fresh personality. Megita had a zest for life and embraced every moment with passion. She loved to cook for those she cared about, took pride in her personal style—especially her makeup, nails, and hair—and found joy in reading and spooky movies in the warmth of her bed on a rainy day, particularly around her favorite time of year, Halloween.

Megan’s laughter was contagious, her honesty refreshing, and her loyalty unwavering. She had a courageous, bold spirit and was unapologetically herself. Beneath her playful and spirited nature was a heart filled with love and deep devotion to those she held close to her. One of her greatest joys was caring for her grandmother, Soco “Mom” Moreno, who held a very special place in her heart.

Megan lived her life boldly and authentically—never one to follow the crowd, and always true to herself (especially in her well-known dislike of the color pink). She was a force to be reckoned with—unforgettable, unyielding, and a proud cancer survivor. Megan was the kind of woman you simply didn’t mess with. But, to know her was to love her, and that love left a lasting imprint on those lucky enough to call her daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, or friend.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gregorio “Dad” Moreno Jr.; her paternal great-grandparents, Gregorio Sr. and Teresa Moreno; her maternal great-grandparents, Angel and Lupita Munoz; her cousin, Laken Lackey; and her paternal grandfather, Serapio Jiminez.

Megan is lovingly survived by her parents, John and Norma Johnson; her siblings, Joshua Jiminez, Amanda Bledsoe and her husband Justin, and their children Elijah and Porter; J.J. Johnson and his son Jage; Jacob Borrego and his wife Laurissa; and Mireyah Jiminez. She is also survived by her beloved grandmother, Soco “Mom” Moreno; her uncle, Gregorio Moreno III and partner Marissa Sanchez, and children Gia Greene and Corey Valencia; by her Uncle Tony and Aunt Diane Munoz, who were second parents to her, and by her sisters in life and beyond: Annette Munoz, Cassandra Munoz, Marissa Lackey, Beth Scheets, Tonshay Whitfield, and Cyndi Herrera. She leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and treasured friends, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Though Megan is no longer with us in person, her spirit will live on in the stories we share, the songs we sing, the shots we take, the laughter we remember, and the love that surrounds her always.
