Mary Grimstead

Mary Belle Grimstead, 92, of Abilene, TX passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Abilene, TX.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Elmwood Funeral Home.

Mary was born on December 21,1929, in Ding Dong, TX to the late William Carroll and Lillie Belle Vann Carroll. She worked for over 53 years as a beautician and raised 4 boys and one daughter. Mary was an avid gardener and loved nature. She has a special fondness for hummingbirds and would plant flowers that attracted hummingbirds. Mary also made homemade refrigerator magnets using pictures of flowers and birds of Texas. She was a longtime member of Elmwood Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her children, William Daniel Grimstead Jr, Richard Stanley Grimstead, Dwight Randall Grimstead, Robert Brian Grimstead, Marian Elaine Lively (Tim); 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
