It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marilyn Age, who left us on March 30, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on November 28, 1956, Marilyn lived a vibrant life in Abilene, Texas, where she was cherished by her family and community.
Marilyn possessed a big, feisty heart and a spirit that radiated warmth and joy. She was known for her ever-present smile and infectious good mood. Love for the outdoors defined much of her life; whether she was fishing, camping, or tending to her cherished garden, Marilyn found peace and happiness in nature's embrace. She also had a knack for crafts and puzzles, often sharing her creations with loved ones.
As a devoted wife, Marilyn will be remembered lovingly by her husband, Ernest Age, whom she affectionately called "Hey Man." She was a dedicated mother to her daughters, Deanda Crayton and her husband Richard, and Depriella Scott. Her grandchildren- Kese Hughes, Danika George and her spouse Anita Griffin, Milik Hughes, Gabriel Monroe, Anastasia Adams, and Kevanii Alexander-were the light of her life and brought her immeasurable joy.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Linda. She leaves behind her siblings Joe Daryl Hughes, Rogenger Pierre, Guinevere Evans, Bonnie Evans, Jovita Evans, and Shannon Evans, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Friends and family are invited to gather in Marilyn's honor during a visitation at the Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center on April 9, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at the North 10th & Treadway Church of Christ on April 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM, where we will celebrate Marilyn's beautiful spirit and the countless memories she created. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Elmwood Memorial Park Gaden of Hope on 5750 HWY 277 South in Abilene, TX, at 11:30 AM.
Let us remember Marilyn for the joy she brought into our lives and the love she shared so freely. She truly made a way for her family, always ensuring their needs and desires were met with care and devotion. May her legacy of love continue to inspire us all.
