Marcha Lara

Marcha Flores Lara aka "Catfish", 57, of Tye, Texas passed away surrounded by family and friends Saturday, December 30, 2023. Marcha was born on May 19,1966 in Knox City, Texas to Janie Flores and Aniseto Lara. During his time on earth, Marcha was the life of the party, always making people laugh and smile. He enjoyed dancing, spending time with family, and fishing. He never turned down a good barbecue or giving anyone a nickname. Marcha had the biggest heart and never met a stranger. Most importantly he loved his family and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a hard worker and in his final years he drove for AEL following his 13-year employment with KWS. Marcha married Barbara on October 24, 2011, after being together since 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lara; his daughter, Myrissa Lara (husband - Chris Mendez), seven step kids, Ashley Williams (husband - Rick Garcia), Bradley Williams, Cory Williams, and Will Lindley (wife - Janellys Lindley); Kristina Vasquez, Eric Aguilar, Ceclia Aguilar. His dad Aniseto Lara, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, 26 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandbaby.

Preceded in death by his mother, Janie Flores; uncle "Tio Coco", and his cousin Joe aka "Flaco".

Pallbearers will be Dra Gilmore, Eric Gilmore, Quentin Lusk, Augustine Lara Jr., Mario Alfaro, Miguel Alfaro, Bubba Lara, and Guillermo Moreno. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Alvarez Jr., Charles Crumpton, Chris Mendez, and Eric Aguilar.

A rosary will be held 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, January 5,2024 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Tx. The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 6,2024 at Overflow Worship Center, 2958 Grape St, Abilene, Tx. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Tye Cemetery in Tye, Tx.
