It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we announce the passing of Marcella Farr Moran. Marcella was born on November 7, 1947, and departed this world on July 23, 2025, at the age of 77.
Marcella was a lifelong member of the Nazarene community, whose faith and compassion touched the lives of many.; she was an extremely gifted artist whose paintings in various mediums, especially watercolors, brought joy to all who beheld them. Whether on a grand canvas or a small sketch, her ability to capture beauty and emotion in her artwork. Marcella was an active participant in the Art Club of Abilene, where she shared her passion for art in others.
After a fulfilling career of 35 years at Security Title Company, Marcella embraced her retirement, dedicating her time to her artistic endeavors, family, and community. Her greatest joy came from her family. In 2015, she married the love of her life, James Moran, with whom she shared many beautiful moments and adventures. Together, they created a home filled with laughter and love.
Marcella is survived by her adoring spouse, James Moran, and her cherished children and stepchildren: Kelly Gayhart, Angie Slomke, Brandon Farr, Monique Farr, and Aaron Moran (Tricia). She was a beloved grandmother to Kyra Gayhart, Tanner Gayhart, and Kellie Sue Slomke. Marcella will also be remembered by her siblings, sister Debbie and brother Chuck, who loved her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Marcella's life will take place on August 2, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Abilene First Church of the Nazarene, located at 2849 Beltway South, Abilene, TX 79606. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Marcella are invited to join in this celebration.
