With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Luis Carlos Montalvo, who left us on November 24, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on October 28, 1958, in Robstown, Texas, Carlos lived a full life that embodied Christ, resilience, and love. He resided in Abilene, Texas, where he proudly worked as a self-employed plumber, a trade he dedicated his life to, showcasing skill and diligence in every project.

Carlos was not just a plumber; he was a vibrant spirit who celebrated life in many ways. He was a devoted co-parent with his beloved, Debbie, always sharing countless memories and laughter-filled life. Known to his grandchildren as Popo. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Carlos devotedly watched games and cheered for his team, sharing the experience with friends and family.

Carlos also had a fondness for dancing, effortlessly lighting up the room with his presence. He was a strong believer of Jesus Christ. He adored his coffee every morning, menudo on Sunday’s, watermelon, Sunkist, sweet tea, whoppers, and all kinds of sweets, making gatherings even more special. His playful spirit shone through his childhood days, where he embraced cabezudo and mischievousness, leaving cherished memories for those who loved him. Carlos briefly served in the Marines after high school, his dedication and commitment to his country.

As a family protector, Carlos was always there—both as a comforting presence and a source of strength. He is survived by his Mother Ofelia Leal, Children Melissa (Isua) Mdang, Seretha Soto, Demetria (James) Hernandez, Amos (Jessica) Romero, Tessie Montalvo, Manuel Arredondo and Ilyana Montalvo. 20 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren; his siblings Delma (Bobby) Davila, Oleomar (Sylvia) Montalvo, and Hector Montalvo.

He was preceded in death by his father Adolfo Montalvo, Maternal grandparents Jose Andres and Lorenza DeAnda, Paternal grandparents Jose Maria and Cruz Montalvo, his oldest brother Adolfo Montalvo, his daughter Bianca Montalvo, Grandson Warren Soto, Great Nephew Jeremiah Romero, Mother In Law Geronima Meza and his loving dog Whitie

As we prepare to celebrate the life of this remarkable man, we invite family and friends to join us in remembering Carlos—the loving father, devoted son, loyal friend and die-hard Cowboy fan.
