With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Lindi Renae Bruno.
Clinically, Lindi passed away on Monday, August 17, at 5:14 p.m.; however, her beautiful heart continued to beat until August 21 at 11:30 p.m. Her family, friends, and caregivers were fortunate to remain by her side until they reached the operating room doors. There, Lindi was entrusted to skilled surgeons who carefully recovered her organs, allowing her to grant the gift of life to eight others.
Lindi was born on March 31, 1988, in Abilene, Texas, to David and Lisa Morris. From the very beginning, she was spirited, loving, stubborn, compassionate, and one of the most beautiful people, inside and out, this world was privileged to know.
Her Life
Lindi was a wife, mother, daughter, grand-daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, but those titles only begin to describe what she meant to the people who loved her.
Lindi married Ryan Bruno on January 19, 2013, and together they built a beautiful and meaningful life. Of all the roles Lindi held, being a wife, mother, and fur mom mattered most to her and brought her the greatest joy and purpose.
Lindi deeply loved her three beautiful children, TC, Bonnie, and Rylee, as well as her three dogs. She could often be found chasing, harassing, rescuing, or adopting anything with four legs; taste-testing wine; feeding people experiencing homelessness; and offering support to anyone who crossed her path.
Those who knew Lindi will remember her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, humor, loyalty, unforgettable personality, generosity, strength, stubborn streak, and, of course, her foul mouth. She had a remarkable way of making animals and humans alike fall in love with her.
Her Family
Lindi leaves behind her beloved husband, Ryan Bruno; her children, TC, Bonnie, and Rylee; her parents, David and Lisa Morris; her sister and brother-in-law, Darbi and Marty Sanders; her grandparents, Leslie Terry and Dorene Morris; her precious second parents, Tim and Kimi Bruno; her sister- and brother-in-law, Nicki and Kale Johnston; and her nieces and nephews, Drew, Tatum, Lillian, Derek, and Cameron.
She also leaves behind her beloved fur babies, ASAP, Addy, and Cersei, along with countless family members and friends who loved her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gene Morris; her grandmother, Geraldine Terry; her great-aunt, Barbara Rains; and her beloved fur babies, Bentlie, Panch, and Daisy.
A Final Gift
Even in death, Lindi continued to give.
As an organ donor, her final act was one of extraordinary generosity: the gift of life to others. While our family carries an unimaginable loss, we find comfort in knowing that parts of Lindi will live on and that her final gift may give other families more time with someone they love.
Her story does not end with her passing. Her life, her love, her memories, and the lives touched through her gift will carry her forward.
