Liandra Alcorta

November 27, 1940 — February 16, 2024

Liandra Olivares Alcorta, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on February 16, 2024. She was 83 years old. Liandra was born to Miguel and Valentina Olivares on November 27, 1940 in Dallas, Texas, and grew up with six siblings.

Liandra married Joe H. Alcorta on August 19, 1962 in Breckenridge, Texas. God blessed Joe and Liandra with four children: Cecilia, Joe, Adriel, and Andrew. These four children gave the Alcortas fifteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Liandra graduated from Breckenridge High School, and then earned a Registered Nurse Diploma from Hendrick School of Nursing in Abilene. She worked for over twenty years as a scrub nurse for four neurosurgeons. And after retirement she worked as a school nurse for about 20 years at Ortiz Elementary.

Liandra loved to do cross stitching and embroidery.  All her children and grandchildren have a quilt she made for them. She was also a terrific cook. Her tamales, enchiladas, and tortillas were finger licking good. Her hobbies were walking, reading, and collecting angels of all types. She read the Bible and Prayed daily.
