Leonard Earl Breeding, 69, passed away on Wednesday April 8, 2026, in Abilene, Texas.
Leonard was born November 24, 1956, to his parents Robert and Martha Breeding in Abilene, Texas. Leonard's educational journey began in Abilene, Texas, where he graduated from Abilene High School in 1975. He furthered his technical knowledge by attending an Electrician college in Dallas, Texas, equipping himself with the skills that would define his professional career. His commitment to his profession was evident through his active membership of the Brotherhood Electrician Union, reflecting his strong ties to the trade community.
Furthermore, he was a strong supporter of the Port Authority Police Department, reflecting his respect for those who serve and protect the community.
Known affectionately as "TEX" by those who knew him up North, Leonard's personality shone through as carefree and humor filled. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, including watching soap operas with his sister, and indulging in his favorite pastimes. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Leonard also enjoyed fishing, bowling, listening to music, and spending time at the beaches of South Carolina.
He is survived by his daughter, Tabatha Bales; his son, Shawn Breeding; his grandchildren, Bryson Bales, Brianna Bales, and Paisley Breeding; his sister, Beverly Smith; his nephews, Chris Smith; and his niece, Randi Mooney; and many great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marybeth Maloney; his father, Robert S. Breeding; his mother, Martha J. Breeding.
